Shea Hillenbrand had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and Jeff Suppan came through with a
solid 8 innings as the Dyersville Jurassics won in dramatic fashion over the
London Hawk Lords by a score of 4 to 1 at the ballpark.
Dyersville came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 4 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Craig Biggio
who silenced the stadium when he blasted a two-run home run (his 16th of the
season). The game was a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.
The win was credited to Suppan(10-5) who went 8 innings allowing 1 run. Joe
Nathan earned the save, his 16th. Jeff Weaver(6-17) was charged with the
loss. He allowed just 2 runs and 6 hits in 8 and 1/3 innings.
'We just kept swinging the bats and didn't give up,' Hillenbrand said. 'If you
just keep trying good things can happen!'
